I have been cleaning my PC and wanted to blow the dust a bit. In the moment I did it, few larger drops (maybe 2) of saliva (1-2mm) and I assume a lot of smaller drops ended up on the MBU on the part of the image below on right side.
So my questions:
- Could this saliva damage the motherboard, short something in the moment it touched it or in the future corrode something? The PC was turned OFF when it happened and it dried in matter of a minute or two, I have also waited 24h for it to dry completely.
- After 24h I have discharged the capacitors by holding the power button for 5-10sec and subtly cleaned the part of MBU as shown in the image with organic cotton swabs and 99% Isopropyl Alcohol, avoiding capacitors and plastic parts, but I didn't remove BIOS battery and this was my second mistake, so what are the chances that something could be damaged this way with alcohol? I was not soaking anything and Alcohol didn't came even close to the battery since it's far away from the cleaning place.
This is one of the most embarrassing moment...
Everything seems to work right now for a few days and I was checking the PC with HWInfo64 for any kind of Whea Errors or similar and it didn't happened, but I would appreciate some kind of assurance. Was I just lucky and stupid or maybe the chance of damage was extremely minimal and didn't happened?
