Is there an easy way to do them? Ive found a file with all the basic data etc that just needs editing, but its got advertising in it,and more importantly i want to try it myself from scratch. No point leeching all the time. Problem is i cant find any decent guides for creating them.

Are they really as hard as they seem to make? and does anyone know of any good websites that an absolute nub like myself will be able to follow?

Cheers for any help.

Have a look at these: http://www.cssplay.co.uk/menus/index.html

(Pure HTML + CSS).

There are some guides on there which helped me to create the ones on the website i am developing at the moment: Here

Hope this helps!

Just a quick note - perhaps the menus aren't finished yet but they do not display properly in IE7 Beta :(

Stellios: ALA has some nice tutorials on drop-down CSS menus, including this.

Could you show me a screenshot of what you see when hovering over one of the buttons please?

I won't be able to at the moment I'm afraid :(

Basically it looks as though the menu headers have suffered some word wrapping and the 'gallery' header appears underneath the 'portfolio' link. As such, when mousing over the 'portfolio' header the menu disappears as soon as you move the mouse down to select an item.

The big problem is, though, that there appears to be no menu items at all - when you mouse over a header, the black panel container appears but there's no text for menu items.

Sorry I couldn't help more at the moment. If you're still struggling for screenies later I'll post some when I get home.
