Dropped my iPhone tonight.

Personally I use an iPod sock. Phone just about fits and the sock is thick enough to protect against falls. I can then slide the phone out and use it caseless, as it was meant to be :D

I did that with my 2G, however it still got dented/scratched somehow so now I have a phone that is worth £440 i think a £30 case to keep its resale value up/prevent me buggering it is worth it :p

And to think people laughed at me in the other thread for suggesting insurance on an Iphone is pretty essential.

I agree, it is worth it for me now. Im going to see how much it will add to my house contents insurance. Otherwise get that one someone else suggested.

Is it me, or if you ever drop your iphone, your life feels like its over :(

Yes, its like OMG NOOOOO :(

But I think its more the fact you've dropped something worth £400+ that your thinking about :p

So true, i am looking at claiming it off the House Insurance if i do drop it.

Anyone ever done that?

Well its arrived and fitted.

Didn't bother with the screen protector as the 1st time it wouldn't go down flat and the 2nd time dust got in :(

So gave up and left it :p

I've got the invisible shield front/back thing, maybe I should've got this instead as the shield obviously doesn't offer impact protection....but for those wanting a non-bulky scratch protector, it's pretty good :)

All these cases just make the phone bulky and ugly, that's what insurance is for. If my phone smashes, i'll have a new one in next to no time.

That is hassle and potentially mess with no claims etc.

I have phone insurance + accidental cover for £39 but i'd still rather have a case!

It's a tool for me, not a fashion statement.

And anyway, its the UI/apps etc that make the iPhone, not its design IMO (although it still is very stylish).
