Dropped my laptop....will it be ok!?

Morning All,

Dropped my laptop on Friday...not far, about 2 feet onto carpet. Actually it slipped off a small table it was on as I tried to unlock the lid!

The lid was shut and the laptop was asleep and it woke up and worked straight away without any problems. I restarted (again fine) and I did a standard chkdsk (again, fine).

Am I correct in thinking that even if I'd done the slightest bit of damage to the mainboard or other components etc it just wouldn't work, full stop.

Here's hoping I got away with it ;)
 
I've dropped a laptop 3 foot onto a laminate floor and it landed on one of its corners. Other than one of the lid clips that hold it the keyboard secion was slightly bent, not another single thing wrong with it.

Depends how lucky you are really :p
 
Didn't you answer your own question?

You asked if it'll work, then you said it was working...
 
Also dropped my on the laminate flooring, landed on the screen. Looked at the screen was all bugggered with multicoloured lines going across the screen, and the screen slightly twisted still. But a quick restart fixed most of problems and good to go.

you did check the dvd drive? I dropped mine and never checked that til i came to use it a few days later, luckily it was still under warranty so got it replaced.
