Dropper Gen

My avast just showed me that I have a Dropper Gen, and it run a scan and put it in a chest. Is it serious and what can I do?

Nothing. It's been caught and in the chest now, it can't do any harm to you any more. If you really want to be safe you can do a full scan.

I have a free avast, I did a full scan and it says no threats found, want can the virus do? Is it serious?

It seems to be a remote software hiding as a text file.

You don't need to do anything, Avast has caught it and removed it from your system so you're already safe.

EDIT: Saw your other thread in GD, quality . That's the "best" place to ask a serious question .

People say that it can get more malwares on the PC and do all sort of things.

Well Avast has already removed it, what more do you want to do? It can't do any harm to your PC seeing as it's already caught and isolated away.

If you're really paranoid, you can go to Avast -> Scan -> Scan for viruses -> Then at the bottom click "Quarantine (Virus Chest)" and delete it from there. And then maybe do a scan with Malwarebytes with Windows in safe mode just to make sure.

I still don't see why you're going so far to hunt down something that's not even on your system any more... Avast did its job, is that not enough for you?

The only way you can be sure is by reinstalling Windows, IMO.
