The verge pointing on my roof needs sorting.

Can anyone who has had dry verge caps installed recently let me know how much it cost?

The house is a standard two storey detached in the Midlands. Looking at neighbouring houses it's going to need 52 caps to do both sides.

I'll be getting quotes, but would like to have a rough starting point.

Thanks.

Had those on my bungalow done about 5 yrs ago - cost me £80 - I think the lad was working local and had a load left over and was canvassing -so he said a price and I hummed and arred and got it done for cash. Been OK since.

I do hope you mean the plastic edging that goes over edge of tiles.

That is what I'm talking about.

I'd expect it to cost a lot more than that. If I could get it done for £80 I'd bite their hand off.

I'm sure the trade can get them cheaper, but the dry verge units appear to cost £1.50+ each. There's then the main cost of actually paying for the time it'll take to fit them.

The guy that did my Mother's roof has finally got back to me and wants £620.

That's why I said he had a lot left over from previous job - If I wanted them done today I would expect 500 quid - so if you have a house then £620 doesn't seem that bad to me but then I have had a lot of work done and it's cost a lot and I got immune to prices. - Nothing seem cheap.
