DS 3 Problem

Got a DS3 E6300 and 2 gig Crucial Anniversary Ram.

Should there be an led on the board when power is connected?

When connected Hard drives spin up then the Cpu fan kicks in for about 2 seconds then stops. Any ideas what is wrong?

Cant even get to bios. The system beeps then the fan twitches then nothing. Have no other Ram or cpu to try so dont know if the mobo is at fault.Any ideas?

Nm sorted it now.
