LOL - yeah I know it's a toy, but it looks more kiddyish, the original DS looked like a serious toy, the new style looks more like a Fisher Price toy.

Both look like typical VTech affair to me
Good job its the games that count :D

That pic makes the old DS look like some cheap third party handheld! much nicer imo and hopefully that button placing (slightly higher and more raised) will make the hand cramps you get playing Mario Kart better :) and theres no daft ridge around the side to dig in your hands either.

Seen some other pics which show that the stylus is also a bit longer and thicker.

All in all this seems to be a well worthwhile update to an already great handheld.

I disagree... Nintendo are taking their design cues from Apple, not Fisher Price or Vtech.

I think it looks amazing.

From the looks of that shot, it seems that the new DS might be slightly better for viewing the screens at an angle, which would be good.

I'm very tempted to get myself a snazzy black lite as a replacement, and I've never bothered with redesigns before (stuck with my old GBA through think and thin).

EDIT: Just noticed, the power button has gone back to being a switch on the side. Now that's old-school! \o/

I like my old brick version DS. Not fussed about the smaller size, but if the screen has been improved, and it certainly looks that way from the photo, then I might be tempted.
