Just had a quick look on play and the ds browser due for release 6/10 will be going for around £25. When I looked yesterday (and forgot about) it was up for around £45.

At that price I might get hold of one now.

I've never heard of it being priced at £45, only between £25 - 30

I was listening to a podcast last night regarding the browser and they said it is a great concept and they are onto the right idea but the browser is painfully slow. Example being cnet took over 3 minutes to load :(

I am more interested in the messenger that is supposed to be bundled with it. Does anyone know more about this? Is it nintendos own messenger or something like msn or a trillian package?

£25 isn't a lot of money to have wasted if it turns out to not be too good, although there is the novelty factor

Yeah i've got the browser on order from Gameplay (£24.99 there as well) not too much money really and would be handy if it still lets you access the wireless hotspots for free like it does for the WiFi games!

I would gladly pay for a browser on the DS. As Kreee says it'll useful for when you're on the bog. I hate it when I'm reading OcUK and I have to leave for a crap. The DS is great for mid-poo entertainment.

Just unburied this thread. ;)

Anyone expecting to get their Browser tomorrow?

Didn't even knew they existed till some random googling today.

Will have to get one for my kids DS now but would like to hear of some real life reviews first. :)

I think its one of those thigns that sounds cool but probably has very little real world application. Any instance I can think of where Id be in a hotspot with my ds, I dont think id actually need to use the internet. I think I could wait until I got home. Even sneaky places of use eg lectures, it doesnt seem worth it.

That said for the novelty of owning it its prob worth it as it does have an extra gba ram pack that comes with it to hold the cache.

I think I'll just stick with my mobile phone and data plan. It's got a higher resolution screen and Opera Mini does a sterling job. If I see Opera DS knocking about in a bargain bin then I might get it because things like this intrigue me.

Hmm on a well known retailer's site they have two versions, one for DS lite, one for regular DS. Are there really two different versions? What reason is there for it?

Because the extra RAM cart that goes in the GBA slot is smaller for the DS Lite version so it's flush with the case and not sticking out.

I imported the japanese one, to me it seemed really sloooooow to slow for me, it was just too frustrating waiting for pages to load. Has the speed increased on the Uk version?

I'm posting off it now. It's quite good but goes slightly laggy sometimes. It's very easy to use and works perfectly for rendering. On the back of the box, it says what formats are/are not supported. non-supported formats are Flash,PDF,sound/movie files & other files that require plug in

So how long is the lag? Could you roughly time how long your a thread takes to render or something like that? I find it hard to believe that CNET takes 3 minutes to load, my mobile phone is quicker than that.

Shame there's no flash support, Youtube DS would have been sweet.
