I am a casual gamer, so is it worth me getting a DS Lite? Ilike the old Mario games and the Zelda games. Are there other games I might like?

I fit under the casual gamer category and picked up a ds lite the other day with new mario & animal crossing. I've not been able to put it down.

For £130 with 2 games i would highly recommend it.

It really depends if you like the sort of games available on it, and if you are the type of person to sit down and play a handheld console. Personally, I love it, but I use it most when I'm working night shifts and tend to stick to my pc when I'm at home.
I'd probably recommend trying one out first if you possibly can, and see if you like the gimicky style of game :).

I just got one 2 days ago, what a magnificent handheld console it is. Got the PSP 3 months ago and have played it 3 times.

There was someone here last month who was adament about getting a PSP and not a DS Lite. What a fool.

The DS actually brings fun back to gaming :).

I've got both and dont play either.

They are both dull as ditch water.
I actually play the games on my phone more than i have done either the PSP pr DS.

Whilst neither have longevity, for fun I can't look past the DS.
I was playing the mini-games on New Super Mario Bros. for hours last night alone! Mario Kart DS isn't too bad either!
I also want Castlevania and a few other games.

I can remember that thread, what someone decides to spend their hard earned on hardly makes them a fool. Not everyone will prefer the DS over the PSP.

What was foolish however was writing off the DS as an un-interesting console when you are buying a handheld to entertain yourself, something which the DS clearly does with aplomb.
