DS Lite not powering up

I've just changed the case on my DS Lite and it will now not power up.

The power light comes on for a second, flashes brighter then goes off. The screens show nothing at all. I've taken it apart again and put it back together but it's still the same.

Any ideas what could be wrong ?

Did you follow static precautions?

Yes I did, I've done this console before with no problems.

Sorry for saying but are you sure it's not the battery? If my DS runs flat then it shows no sign of life untill it's been charged for about 20+ minutes, even when it's plugged in.
