?) and a few screen protectors. Are they worth getting and how are they applied? Im assuming they stick onto the screen somehow but would the adhesive not damage the screens?

I'm not using any protectors on my DS.
Which is a bit of a surprise really as I do use them on my Dell Axim.

What I found with the Axim is that you should stay away from the cheap protectors.
The cheap ones did leave something on the screen which although I'm quite sure haven't cuased any damage was just annoying.
Also they didn't seem to last as long and I soon found them slipping.
By spending more for better quality ones I found they stayed in place, you couldn't see that one was applied and more importantly when removed they left nothing behind.

If you are going to get any, get the Hori ones. Normally pick them up on ebay. I used some for a while, and it did affect the sensivitiy of the touch screen and I also ended up with the odd bubble. Took them back off in the end and didnt bother with them, and the screen was no worse off when I sold it to the day I bought it.

Wouldnt bother personally.

My DS is starting to get a few fine scratches, nothing major though.
The problem with the screen protectors is that they only last a couple of weeks before they need replacing so you end up spending a fortune on them.

I would use them if you intend on playing trauma centre though.
The game requires the user to constantly fill the syringe with magic health potion and this made my original DS have a noticeable scuffed area where the potion was situated. Luckily for me, I got it swapped for a new one as the hinge cracked.

Just wipe the touch screen with a glasses cloth before you play each time. My launch old style DS has zero scratches despite being attacked my wario ware, trauma centre etc.

They are very tough and long lasting if you're not silly with it.

Get the Hori screen protectors, they're the officially licenced ones. There is no adhesive on them, but thestuff they're made from combined with the close fit means there's no way they fall off. If you want to remove them just use some sellotape to peel one corner up and they come off easy then. If you get bubbles it's often due to particles of dust between the protector and the screen - use a piece of sellotape to carefully remove the offending dirt, DON'T try to brush it off with your finger or anything else you'll just make it worse.

I had a hori one and all it did was make the screen hazy and lose sensitivity. There's really no point in screen protectors at all.
