DS WIFI problems + Lite questions

Hey guys,

I'm having problems connecting my DS to my router.

The DS is basically saying it can't find a wireless access point and I can't figure out why. (I've also tried configuring manually, putting in my ssid and wep key, also tried entering ip's, I usually use DHCP).

Its a Netgear 834g router (so should be compatible).
My laptop connects to it fine.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

*Edit. By the way, my DS is American. That shouldn't make a difference though should it?

Also my brother is thinking of buying a DS lite so we can play each other whilst in the van. You can get a ciggerette lighter lead for the DS. I've heard you need a step down converter for the Japanese lite, I take it this wont work with the lite?

Also will the Japanese lite connect ok to the American DS?

Surely the channels used for the UK and USA are differnt due to local regs, therefore in theroy they wouldnt work as the UK router would be on a different channel?

Or am i just completly wrong?!

I'm not sure channels have anything to do with it because these can be changed.
Whenever I install a WIFI card it does ask for the region and states things may not work properly if this is set incorrectly. So I'm thinking the region may have something to do with it.

I had problems getting it to work with the office router. It is a D-Link, a very similar model to mine at home, but the one in the office doesn't work, but at home it was perfect. Alas the DS's wifi stuff is not at all compatible with some routers. Most work, but plenty don't :(

But according to www.nintendowifi.com my router is supported!

Only thing left I can suggest is to try turning off WEP temporarily.

If all else fails you can by a Nintendo WiFi USB adapter. :)

I guess I may have to. Only problem is the computers is in my room and he often plays the DS when I'm asleep, don't like leaving the computer on because it keeps me awake. :)
