The ds has detected my router etc, and accepted my WEP key, but when i try to connect, i get an error message,, unable to find a compatible access point??

Yeh I had the same prob mate, turns out some routers arent compatible with the DS. Heres a link of the ones that do LINK . I had to get wifi max for mine to work or you could buy the nintendo usb dongle to share your connection.

have you got the DNS or ip address set up right ? It took me a while to get mine working, and wjen i eventually did it turns out my router has a problem sustaining 2mb signal. The DS runs at 2mb and mine cuts out after 10 mins.......................when my laptop is fine.

I ended up getting a new Netgear router, could have saved some money getting the nintendo wifi thing but i want to play the DS while the PC is off too so a new router it has to be.

so which is the best to get?

The standard widi USB connector (£27.99) or the Wifi Max (£17.99) from the same online store?

Connect your Nintendo DS wirelessly to the world of online gaming.
Plug WiFi Max into any internet enabled PC to create a high speed wireless access point. WiFi Max provides a true wireless 'G' access point, 5 times faster than a standard WiFi connection. You can connect multiple consoles and even other WiFi devices including laptops and PDAs.

Yeh the wifi max is really easy to set up and does the same job as the nintendo one. Not sure what the nintendo one is like but you cant really go wrong with either I guess, just the nintendo one looks better and costs more so better to go with wifi max since its cheaper.

thanks for the review, i will be ordering one tomorrow, my bro can use it for his PSP too.

Another quick question, as its a wireless connection to my network can a PC/laptop also use it to connect??

Just wondering what security problems there are with it!

Yeh there's an option to set it from access point mode to station mode which should allow you to share you connection with a computer and so on. As for security it has WEP if thats any good for you. :)
