Up til last night my E6600 would not budge past 340 FSB on my DS4 no matter what I did to it.
I downloaded the newest BETA BIOS from here Beta BIOS and now Ive got it stable at 410 FSB!
There are other users on Xtreme systems reporting the same thing, so if anyone has been habving trouble OCing their 6600/6700 on the Gigabyte boards I highly recommend this BIOS.

You're lucky, I am stuck with the DS4 on F3 BIOS and the thing won't even boot reliably with cheap PNY memory! Let alone overclock, been sitting there for over 4 weeks, worst motherboard I have ever bought

Argh. I'm thinking of buying a DS3, 6300 combo. Would you recommend otherwise?

Not the best person to ask really as my judgement is somewhat "clouded" ;)

One thing for sure is that the 965 Gigabyte boards are fussy about memory so be careful what memory you choose if you go for the DS3...

Any ideas about how it would run with 2x1GB OCZ Value Pro DDR2 5400?

I'm not a reader of German so maybe I@m missing something. :)
I'm running a DS4 on BIOS F3 - the latest I seem to be able to get from the Gigabyte website.

According to the link you've supplied not only is there a final F4 BIOS for this motherboard but a Beta F5 too.
One problem - the BIOS's listed don't seem to be download links.
How can I actually download from the site you've linked to?

Ta

*Edit*
OK - Found the links :)

What BIOS were you running originally?

...and what kind of cooling do you have? Could you maybe post some screenies of your BIOS settings please :)

Thanks

How would it run with OCZ 2GB (2 x 1GB) PC2-6400 Dual Channel Special Ops XTC Series DDR2 (OCZ2SOE8002GK) (MY-071-OC)?

For anyone interested in the DS4 BIOS releases - I'm currently mirroring them on my own site here:

http://www.cifi.com/computing/files.html

I sent an e-mail to Gigabyte about the latest Beta release yesterday - mainly to confirm if it was authentic.
They confirmed it was and have promised me new beta's as they are released too - nice of them.

I had originall tried every BIOS from F2 --> F5a up to that point.
My Cooling atm is just a Scythe ninja, but I have also reseated the NB cooler on the DS4 with some arctic silver for a far better contact.
Will see if i can get some screenies of the BIOS up later.

I had a MSI p965 Neo and had endless problems so i got a DS4 as replacement and compared to the MSI far better. I have a Celeron 2.53 running at 3.70 stable. The best i could get was 3.2 on the MSI. I am just wondering how this compares to your overclocks as this is a 533 chip, so fsb is 133. I am running it at 195 at the moment. I am trying to equate the overclocking to a conroe (ie motherboard not CPU).
