DS3 965 and E6600 Woes

First off arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

I have a rev 1 965 DS3 board, 4gb ram (Dominator 8500) and a E6600 with a decent CPU cooler.

I had an overclock running at 3.2ghz for a while but the board reset, I just cannot get it running above stock now, everytime I set it with a higher FSB it resets itself.

Really fed up as I have a 260 GTX card and feel the CPU is holding it back, and the board can't use any decent modern ones.

Can someone run through the basic settings on the BIOS that should get me up and running again.

It's not done something funny with your ram timings has it - my last Gigabyte board would have very odd 'auto' setting with some ram.

A bios update might also help (if it's still on the factory issue one)
Also this board will take E5xxx, E7xxx, E8xxx, Q6xxx and Q9xxx (inc the extreme editions)
But the E6600 is still a very good cpu

not the rev 1 or i would chuck in a q9550.

The timings all look good to me, the voltage for mem is correct o

ermmm for e8500 e8600 and q9550 it says N/a, doesn't that mean no?

really sorry, your right (should have know that anyway *slaps head*)
Looked quickly at list and 'presumed' only supported cpu were included
- been a long day only the Q6xxx quads are a possable upgrade.

I'll shut up now - and let someone else who's had more sleep help
