My sound works fine with the x64 Vista drivers.

I haven't tried the bios flashing utility I'm afraid.

when vista starts up i get a HD audio control panel failure message

the sound also has a habit of randomly cutting out needing a reboot to get it working again ?

then when i try and run the @BIOS application it also fails

The only issue I had using the Vista beta drivers was that I had to unplug and re-insert the audio cables in the back of the PC before the sound worked correctly. Once that was done everything worked fine with no drop-outs.

I haven't tried using @BIOS so can't really comment on that.
