Since fitting my titan amanda cooler i've noticed the DS3's chipset temps soaring over 45C sometimes nearer 50c after some heavy gaming. Is this something to worry about or can the standard heatsink cope with that sort of heat? I have 2x 250mm fans going into the case and 1x 120mm + psu's fan blowing out the back. Everything else temps are fine, i think the extra heat produced by the amanda must be moving over to the chipset before being exhausted out of the case. I did consider reversing the fan on the side of the case, as a 10 inch fan sucking air out has got to be good, although might cause a bit of a vortex with all the different in's and out's.
I have 5 hdd's none of which go above 40c even after being on for days in hot weather. The gpu etc all stay in the 40's, and the amanda keeps the cpu in the 30's and 40's under full load.
Might just be me being fussy, but i don't like to see anything hitting 50's, not to mention the chipset heatsink being bloody hot to the touch.
I have the Thermaltake Spirit 2 i think its called (that big copper tower with the small fan on it) on my AMD setup, and it keeps the NF4 chipset under 35c all the time, perhaps i should put one on the gigabyte board too??
