Behind you... Naked!
Im going to cool *** DS3 a bit better now.

Its served me very so far, and Im not going to assign it to a lesser task just yet.

My current situation is :-

120MM Front & Rear, however front is pretty much blocked off with 4 Sata Drives.

CPU Cooled with Artic freezer ( Not sure if its Pro or not, or if I am confusing it with any of my AMDs - of which 3 have AF64s you see )

NB is cooled by way of 2x60mm in a kind of 2x60mm holder thingy that is screwed in, on the PCI slots, however the GFX Cooler is too big and that now blocks off the 2x60mm cooler from working fully... The outer fan does blow fairly well onto the NB Heatsink however and its a load better than nothing.

Anyway...

Im looking at buying both a CPU Cooler, and a Northbridge cooler, but as many know, the NB and CPU are very close together, so, I need somethign to cater for that.

Anyone suggest owt?

I was planning on water, but, since there is 7 HDs and 4 DVDRWs in there, it needs plenty of air flowing around, so Ill just carry on with air.

Can't you just get a small 40mm fan and glue it onto the northbridge with some heat paste glue whatever its called. I'm thinking of doing the same on my DS3 although I've heard the results aren't anything to write home about.

I did just that some time ago.
Sure, its a major improvement, and better than nothing I suppose, but no, nothing to write home about.

I was kind of considering a full NB & CPU Cooler replacement, but as they are so close, its a little worrying that I might pay a lot for a CPU cooler that will get in *** way of any NB cooling options?

I got a large copper job thats got a 40mm on top of that ( Thanks to InSanCen ) however, its so big, it gets in *** way of the Artic Freezer thats on it now. The artic is doing a better job than the stock one, but only just, and I need to go up the ladder rather than down, so I cannot go back to the stock one just to cool the NB as the CPU will be too hot!!!

That cooler rocks mate! put up with it, and nick one of my CPU coolers... one of em has to fit (I'd think the titan is likely)

EDIT

If anyone has any sugegstions, the NB cooler is the Swiftech jobby, MCX summat or other?

The cooler you gave me sausage, is this :-

Funnily enough, the A8N-SLI is the ver ysame Mobo Im using for my SLI setup upstairs and the picture they are showing this cooler on, it fits sweetly in there, but, it dont fit on mine... Admittedly, Im using an Artic cooler on the top VGA Card... I need to change them for a pair of smaller coolers.

Anyway, its back to the DS3...

I have that cooler here now, and even withotu the fan, its got to be a vastly superior cooler to the stock rubbish, so I will give it a shot ok?

Only snag I have, is that the NB Cooler need the MB out, and if it does not fit ( It does not look like it does ) then having to strip it all down just to find out that it wont go is going to really piddle me off.

Here goes though.

That NB Cooler looks ****** sweet.
The Tuniq however, is out of stock. I have had my eyes on that particular one, as well as the Titan Amanda as InSanCen mentioned earlier.
I put my trust in what InSanCen says about cooling, mainly due to the fact that because of him, I got into overclocking, and because of him, I have acheived ridiculously high clocks due to his advise...

Plus he is just a nice dude that does a lot for chariry there mate.
Bachman turner ovedrive? Lets rock!
