i just got the Jing Ting T0006 cooler for my NB Chip only i cant seem to get the stock heatsink off.

I have taken the 2 white pins out but the heatsink wont move at all. Seems as if its glued down.

Anyone any ideas on how to get it off?

Heat it gently with a hair dryer. You need to melt the thermal pad used by Gigabyte.

A word of warning, do it very carefully as if you get it to hot you will bork your board.

the heatsink gets pretty hot while running, could i just run the motherboard for a while untill it heats up, turn it off and pull the heatsink?

dont have a hair dryer am, gotta wait untill 2moro for it

TIM will disolve the pad but it will be very difficult to get it to any of the pad, still even a little round the edges might help a little if you struggle. You'll need some TIM anyway of course to clean the NB after you've got it off.

Perhaps with the PC upright a drop or two on the top edge might slowly seep down and eat away at a bit of the pad.

I think pulling is bad and personally I prefer gentle twisting as I feel your less likely to pull the NB off the mobo if its stuck very hard.

twisting it while the cpu was under heavy load worked a treat. Aftr 10mins if load it just took 5/6 twists and pop.

Shut the machine down and installed the new one. 6C cooler straight off and i hope maybe more once the AS5 breaks in
