Hi all
i have been having problems with my system for a month now, i will give as much info as posible but im at a bit of a loss.
im playing bf2142...im getting a sound loop and the game stalls for 20 seconds and then i get a blue screen which i cant see the details cause my system restarts.... the history is i started getting artifacting in game, so replaced my 7900gto for a 8800 gts, the atrifacting stopped but i was still getting the crashing.
system is ...6600 @ 3200mhz (set up as in official DS3 guide in these forums) 2g geil ram running at 5,5,5,17 in cpuz the board rev is C2 and ive flashed the bios to F10, XP sp2......
the system ran for a while fine then started crashing, i ran memtest for 8 hrs with no errors, ran orthos (dual core version) for 4 hours no errors but still was getting crashes after about 30 mins of playing. I tried reseting all the bios settings to default and i could play for longer but still got crashes, so i underclocked and the game ran for longer but still crashed.
What ever it is to me ( not clever but not stupid) it seems temp related and i think i have rules out memory and cpu bt the test i have ran?
my question is will the northbridge temp cause crashes like this? i have run coretemp and the max cpu temp is 69 degrees but the tjunction (nothbridge?) stays constant at 85
A friend told me to turn off auto restart in system propeties/startup and recovery so i can see the error code which i have done and will post the results.
I have ordered a 40 40 fan for my northbridge do u think that is the issue? and how do i fit a fan to the heatsink? araldite?

sorry for so many questions but im at aloss as i thought i had tested everything
Regards

That's an error message relating to your Nvidia driver, I'm not saying that's the cause, but you might wanna do a clean reinstallation of your drivers, that means getting Driver Cleaner Pro and removing all existing traces of them first.

thanks for the reply... i used nvidia nasty file remover but maybe that is quite old. I will look for that utility, if its not free is it worth paying for??

Version 1.5 is free, I don't know what version they're offering now but 1.5 seems to do the trick.
