DS3 Problems

I am having problems with my gigabyte DS3 which leads me to believe that the board is on its way out.
When trying to start the pc, and I know about the cold boot problems, all the fans spin up including the graphics card to the fullest volume but the machine does not post.
Now if you take out the power cord and try again still it will not post but if you do this about five or six times then finally the machine will post and work as normal.
The other problem is that try as hard as I can the machine will not reboot. When I change bios setting or asking windows to reboot after installing a driver it will not do it at all.
Now I have flashed the bios to the latest version just in case that was the problem and loaded the bios with default settings but still no go.

System specs are
C2D 6300 (not overclocked)
4gb Corsair RAM, 1gb in it at the mo
Gigabyte DS3
XFi Xtreme Music (only installed after windows was)
Hauppauge HVR-1300
POV 8800GTS 320mb
Enermax 475w Noisetaker PSU
Lian-li 1000+ case

Hmm, try these :

1. If possibletry a different sort of RAM
2. Try a PCI VGA card ( rules out the PSU not being strong enough for your 8800 )
3. Remove CMOS battery and power cord for 5-10 mins
4. Try without the x-fi and the tv card in

right just tried a new motherboard a P5B and that powers on okay and reboots okay. Unfortunately cannot use the motherboard as it is destined for someone elses computer and the pci slots are in the wrong place!

I booted up the DS3 wth just the cpu, one stick of ram (i have two variants a Corsair value set and a corsair xms2 set which previously have run in the machine with no problems, and the 8800gts and still had the same problems.

I dunno what might be wrong now it is doing my head in!!!!!!

Little update now it is now getting stuck on white gigabyte screen where you can select to go into the bios or not but it will go no further, not even if you press the del key on the keyboard! i think this board might be going to board heaven!!

further update seems it will not post at all now have tried it with my old 6800GS graphics card and still the same result.
