Hi there,

Thanks for the advice in the other thread on the DS3, me and my brother have been discussing what motherboard to get and he wants to know whether the DS4 is a better overclocker than the DS3. The cooling system on the motherboard seems a lot better and he is wondering if its worth the extra if its going to be a worse overclocker etc.

Your thoughts and advice please,

Much appreciated!

From what I know I think they overclock the same, if anything the fancy cooler on the DS4 just gets in the way when your fitting your cpu cooler.

Naw, there's loadsa clearance on the DS4!

The DS4 is a lovely piece of work :D It might be able to run very slightly higher voltages on the chips, but probably nothing worth mentioning... But it looks really pretty :p

Seems to me that the DS4 is pretty much the same board except it has a different cooling solution (heatpipe) and has support for firewire. Thanks for your input guys!

There's not "loads of clearance", not if you're fitting a decent cooler, the fan on my Ninja has to either sit on top of the heatpipe cooler or the ram, neither of which is an ideal solution.

I have the Thermaltake Sonic Tower on a DS4 and with the duct mod I've done cool air is blown over the heatsink, mobo cooling system and memory, so all runs peachy. Have run the cpu at 1.49V so far no problem.
