ive got:

Gigabyte DS4 motherboard
Intel Core 2 Duo e6400 (using stock cooler for a few days)
Geil Ultra low latency 6400 2*1GB
Raptor 74gb Rev2

Currently i have increased:

ddr2 voltage: +0.3v (2.1v)
pci-e voltage: normal
G(MCH) OverVoltage: +0.1v
FSB Overvoltage: +0.1v
cpu voltage: 1.45v

Fsb: 350
multiplier: 8x
Pci express frequency: 100hz
Cpu clock - 2.8ghz
System memory multiplier

Also, im using my new raptor 74gb as a normal sata drive, not as raid, i chose this on the sata floppy, is this the correct 1 "Intel(R) ICH8R/DO/DH SATA RAID Controller (Desktop ICH8R)"

I have a dfi expert, i know how to overclock with that pretty well, not used a gigabyte board before so you will need to speak to me like a n00b until i get used to gigabyte's bios.

I wanna clock this some more, pref the ram more first as im waiting on the tuniq 120 cooler to come in stock.

Thanks a lot!

no, i havent run into any problems, this is the first change i have made from stock, everything seems to be ok, but i dont know what i need to change now to overclock it some more, bit of a n00b when it comes to overclocking.

Hope you guys with similar rigs can give me some suggestions.

Right sorry, I'm with you.

Might want to check stability there using orthos prime or something. The ram is rated for that so that's fine. Increasing the fsb further would give you a greater oc (yey) but would stress the ram more (boo). The ram is great though so should go further yet, but you'll need to find the rams limit using memtest. Thats another kettle of fish (basically set the cpu multi really low so its well underclocked and pump the fsb, can then find the mobo/memory limit). Then you'll know how high you can go, so increase fsb, keep checking stability, and you'll most likely reach a cpu limit before ram/mobo limit.

Something like that, it's late and I'm rambling :)

thanks jojo, can you tell me what exact settings i should change then to check my max fsb, the ds3 guide is actually a lot different to ds4 bios, different names for things, ds4 has more options etc, once ive found the max fsb hopefully my tuniq 120 cooler will arrive and i will clock the cpu as far as it will got, hoping for 3.4ghz.

thanks a lot, sorry to be a n00b!

yeah im using latest 12/10 bios, memory multipier is on 2x.

its stable 3.3ghz with 1.3465v :) need cooler to arrive, 71c under dual core full load is too warm for my liking. stupid tuniq 120 is out of stock, wont let me pre-order :(

cant get ram to go past 450, im using 2.3v, timings are set manually, speed is set to "fast", there are other options or "ultra", "normal" and stuff, not sure which of those to choose. i have increased the (G)MCH voltage by 0.1v and FSB Overvoltage by 0.1v.

can someone help me increase the fsb, wanna see the furthest my ram will go.

THANKYOU VERY MUCH!

Read some guides please mate. Once you know what you're doing you can ask some thought-out questions instead of "help me overclock this!" type orders.

A quick summary from somebody who's never overclocked an intel:
1. Put the memory on a really low divider, 1:2 or something, so it's running way under its rated speed.
2. Increase fsb, prime, add more volts, until you've got a stable speed you're happy with.
3. Now consider the ram. Choose the most sensible divider to give you the timings you want. This depends largely on the fsb, which is why you did that first.

Good luck.

420 is highest it will go (4-4-4-12) with 2.3v, but there are 2 options in bios that i have added just 0.1v to:

(G)MCH voltage by 0.1v and FSB Overvoltage by 0.1v.

is it safe to increase these further without additional cooling, if so what to?
