Hi, Im new to the forum soa big hi. 2 mths ago i built a new comp:-

e6300
Ds4
ati 1950xtx
elixer 1gb memory 667mhzp c5300 ddr2
barrcuda 250gb 72000 16mb cache

Now when i first installed windows i have just relised that i have loads of app's missing so i decided to install a slipstream version of winxp but every time i get to the first option screen i keep getting the blue screen of death. Im thinking it could be the memory, ive done loads of tests and it reports no errors, my mem timings are

frequency 333.3 MHz,
FSB: DRAM 4:5,
CAS# Latency 5.0 clocks,
RAS# to CAS# Delay 5 clocks,
RAS# Precharge 5 clocks,
Cycle Time (Tras) 15 clocks

If i set the mem to 4-4-4-12 do you think it willl solve my probs, Ive flashed the bios to f7 and still the same prob.

Cheers
stu

If the original installation went fine, I'd say it has more to do with the slipstreamed version.

Drop everything back to stock and try again. If it doesn't work then avoid the slipstreamed version of XP.

Is the memory timing s right or will i adjust to 4-4-4-12 before re-install...

Plus the first install didnt go right because i have apps missing, paint, outlook and few other silly things...

I'm pretty sure that RAM is CAS5 and 5-5-5-15 will be its correct settings.

Cheers bud, well every thing back to stock and the normal winxp is installing fine up to now. I will give a update in a hr when we are rocking again...

Cheers again bud...
