Hi all,

I have all the following components

Gigabyte 965 DS4 motherboard (F3 bios)
Core 2 Duo 6600
Gainward Geforce 7900gt 512mb ddr3 PCIE (well i did have until i RMA'd it back to an inferior competitor and they lost iy)
2 x Western digital 250 GB Caviar sata2 hard drives
Corsair Ram 2x1024 xms6400 C5 ram

After reading these boards for a few days it appears i am a complete idiot for running this chip at stock speed, i have however, never overclocked a chip before and am struggling to find the best way to do it.
If you could help me out on any of these questions it would be gratefully appreciated.

I am not happy with my choice of RAM but it was more a case of what was available at the time.

1 - What is the best way to overclock?, is it using Easytune5 or making the changes within the bios

2 - What would be a stable conservative speed to try and achieve and at what settings

3 - When i use Eastune and goto PC health, hardware monitor there are 2 flashing warning triangles along side the cpu and system titles in the fans column, the help file has no mention of these icons, what do they mean?

4 - Why is the smart fan button not available within easytune

5 - Although i have 3 case fans i am only using the stock CPU cooling fan that came with the CPU, should i change it and if so what to, is the Ninja sycthe any good?

Thanks in advance

Before you consider any form of overclocking, get a better cpu cooler, the stock ones are pretty poor , then go into bios, and adjust the settings within there, not with easytune. Look at the DS4 owners thread for more info. good luck.
