Pulling out of a junction today, my 6 speed DSG 1.8tsi Yeti had a total loss of power.... car just slowly moved forward. Im sure the power steering also failed. Two restarts did not help, but putting the car into reverse worked and then into drive... drove normally.

It all happened so quickly and prime issue was getting out of the junction as safely as possibly.

The Yeti after seemed to be ok, but felt slower than normal... S mode acceleration seemed to judder. Theres also a sound but not sure if its normal. Its like a quiet note thats pitch gets higher or lower depending on the speed of the car, not the use of brake or gas.

Any ideas? DSG fuel pump etc

Sounds like it could be the mechatronics unit if you're getting hesitation when pulling away etc. Unless it's under warranty get ready to pay some £££. You should get the car on a diagnostic machine first to see what codes are being flagged and take it from there.

I had a Seat Ibiza DSG to deliver which went into limp home mode after sitting idling for longer than it liked. A few minutes with the ignition off and it recovered and didn't happen again. I suspected a problem with the CAT or O2 sensor.
