DskProbe? Or a recovery program?

give us more info..

were they working on an old XP pro install, then now don't work on Vista Home Premium?

testdisk may be the answer here, answer my qu before using it though

No I just unplugged a everything as I was installing a new cpu and when I plugged it back in it didnt show up.

It shows up in device manager. But in disk management is shows up as unreadable with a cross through it.

I had two basic drives with XP and Vista on, which still work. And two dynamic drives that had data backed up on, which now dont.

I was going to try getdataback? Anything else I should try before?

Thanks appreciate the advice

testdisk recovers partitions (and all data on them)

wait incase someone else has another suggestion first

but i've used testdisk many times in the past with 100% success on clients pcs

Would that apply to my situation. If you read the MS link that describes the problem better than I could
