DSL-G604T router problems

ok this router is really annopying me now. Set up the net fine, even updfated firmware. Firstly, the wireless signal cant be found by any laptop even within a meter of it, and yes I have got "Hide SSID" unticked. Secondly, every timne I reset the router all the previous details I changed return. So please someone help me.

Well have you turned the Laptop's WIFI on?
If not does it have WIFI?

If you mean you are resetting the router by the little black button on the back, that will restore the defaults everytime

If that stuff dont work, put a WEP key on the Router and try the Laptop with a WEP key

the laptop has wifi enabled

I may be blonde but not stupid lol. Also I mean resetting by just having the power off for a min. Now it seams to be ok, it somehow has enabled the wifi and I wont unplug it again for a good long while
