DSL Modem/Router required for 2 computers?

Hi all,

Could someone please help me. I have a friend who is having the most annoying trouble in attempting to connect to the internet. He has 'Tiscali' as his broadband provider but is using a BT-router with a built in firewall. He is convinced it is this that is causing the problems.Does anybody have any purchase suggestions of a new modem/router from this site. The sooner we can get this problem solved the better.

Any help on this matter would be much appreciated.

With the word "Tiscali" is what is causing most of his problems from the outset, as that is the most conplained of ISP at present, and cant see that changing for the immediate future, as they cant sustain the number of connections that they are taking on, but people are still signing up due to its "Too good to be true" pricing.

My advice is switch ISP providers, but where you switch to is down to individual requirements. In terms of ADSL Modem/router in the wired sense, you cant beat the Netgear 834
