Hi Guys
Looking for some advice, im looking to replace my old router Netgear DG834N with a DSL-N55U has anyone used one of these routers on a long line i only get 3.5 meg sync as the SNR on my line is really high due to the fact that im miles away from the exchange, there is no chance of fibre for sometime where i live.

ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 4006 kbps 1014 kbps
Line Attenuation 62.0 db 38.3 db
Noise Margin 3.1 db 3.0 db

I have a rather long line also, my attenuation is 54 dB so fairly similar. I used to own a DSL-N55U but got rid due to WiFi issues. The sync rate was about as good as my old/current Netgear DG834GT. The actual sync reliability wasn't an issue compared to any other router I've used.

Thanks for that mate, anyone else comment on one being used on a long line :D

I got one on a 60 db line, well 60 according to sky router the n55u says anything between 54 and 58,go figure :)
Found it to be slightly better than the sky one and the features and wireless are way better
max speed for me is 2-3 meg down and .600 to .896 meg up :(
