Dsl/non dsl ac88u difference

The DSL version has a built in modem that can do VDSL and G.Fast. It has 4 less ethernet ports compared to the RT. The RT is just a router and not a modem/router.

I really don't see how wtfast can help though, from the looks of it, it seems to be a type of VPN that prioritises gaming packets first, but surely it will still be your internet service itself that's the bottleneck?
 
I had a dsl version and all the good qos stuff in the rt routers won’t be added to this router, I found quite a few features were missing from the dsl and I returned it and got the rt-ac88u and connected this to a zyxel vmg1312-10d in bridge mode.

The rt still has the same WiFi setup and has mu mimo
