Ok so something a bit odd, just had my phone line connected today, and according to samknows my postcode YO244ht is 140ish meteres to the exchange (as the crow flies). The exchange is ADSLMAX enabled, but when i run my phone line via the checker at adsl24.co.uk i get the following

-----------

Your line is connected to the ACOMB exchange.
Your line can support up to 1.0 Mbps (1024 Kbps) fixed speed services according to BT's database.
Your line can also support an estimate of 0.0 Mbps on the up to 8.0 Mbps (8128 Kbps) services.
Your line does not currently have an ADSL service present. This means you can sign up to us now!

----------------

Bit confused about the 0.0mbps of 8.0mbps line... do you guys think this it because BT's systems havent updated yet.. i know the line length can be greater than crow flies but the exchange is over the road !! literally.

Anyone had experience of this kinda thing ? im a adsl newbie, had cable for 5 years.

yeah i mentioned to adsl24 that its a new line, and its in the order process at least, marked down as 'service level set' on the BT status now.
