Hi

I purchased a 400d about a year ago with Sigma 17-70mm and 70-300mm lenses.

To be honest, I haven't really got the use out of it that I wanted so am thinking of flogging it and going back to a decent compact.

Could anyone recommend anything in about the £150 ish bracket that's any good?

Also, how much do you think I could get for the 400d and lenses now?

Cheers for any help

Ben.

Panasonic Lumix TZ4
Canon IXUS 80
Pentax Optio A40

I believe those are all just above £150. You can get the TZ5 for a few more squid, and same goes for the Canon/Pentax options.

Personally, the focal length range of the Panasonics tips the balance towards them, but you might have other priorities.

Have a look at the Canon A590IS or the A720IS?

They are both well in your price range (I just bought a A720IS for £126).

Quite decent specs for the money. You can also add lenses when you need a bit "extra" I am going to use this for a while to see if I can justify moving to a DSLR.

I had a look at the IXUS whilst in the shop. Its a lovely camera, but its a bit small and fiddly IMO.
