Hi all,

Looks like I'll need to invest in a rain cover for my 700D (as its non weather sealed) and also needs to cover my 55-250 lens. Going to Cosford on Sunday and the forecast looks wet.

Any recommendations ?

Some plastic bags and gaffer tape.

If it rains wrap it in the above.

If it doesn't rain - keep them in your camera bag.

Raincovers - never used them.

I got a proper rain cover for my 200-400 but never bothered before that. I use it when shooting Kitesurfers on the beach too because when it's windy there's usually quite a lot of salt spray too and it's nice to keep the lens free of that!

I got a Lenscoat Raincoat 2. It's pretty simple to take on and off and it keeps my hands warmer in the cold if I put them up the little sleeves!

As a quick one off then plastic bags or cling film might be fine? Unless you really plan on standing in the rain to take pics then you might not need much more than a bag to put it in to make sure it stays dry in your bag.

I keep a pack op/tech Rainsleeves in my bag, they are about £6 for 2 and are actually quite good and reusable.

I second the recommendation for these.

I used to use sandwich bags with holes cut in them. But they are a bit of pain in the arse. The Optech ones are already designed for it and look a bit less amateur!
