Hi, I'm looking at buying my first SLR and have been having a look around, of all the bodies I like the D50 best, mainly because it feels nicer and is cheaper than the 350D!!

The problem I have is with lenses, I don't want to end up buying the kit
lens and it being rubbish so... would yourecommend buying body only then getting a couple of lenses separately or what? And what lenses would you recommend?

I'm mainly interested in Landscape type stuff and Macro work and am taking this to Cape Town, Sydney, New
Zealand and New York in a year or two so it needs to be up for that!

Thanks

Thanks for the help everyone, the 18-200 VR looks very nice, but is a bit pricey at £500!! I'm thinking of getting the kit lens, a £200 Sigma 105mm Macro lens and a cheaper £100 Tamron 70-300mm, anyone got any better suggestions or does this look good?
