Hi,

First off the item was NOT purchased from OcUK, but I'm hoping someone here knows the answer.

If I bought a graphics card and registered it with the manufacturer (i.e. EVGA) could I then return it under DSR?

I got a EVGA GTX 670 FTW card and it seems to randomly artefact and glitch in other ways (mostly in GW2, but I was mostly playing GW2 at the time). Now For something like this I don't always have much confidence in a companies RMA testing process so worry that they'll send the card back. DSR would save me this worry.

Thanks.

I've been speaking to an EVGA guy via their website technical support who has been very helpful. Didn't know they would do cross-shipping here, thought that was just the US (based on their website).
So does that mean they wont test yours and send it back if they can't find a fault? (this is my biggest concern, along with the cost of shipping to Germany).

no they still test it.

exactly what is your card doing?

mine was green boxes all over scrern and goibg black and saying nvifia display has stopped responding. video link is on here.

recoord wat it does and post link so we can see

Getting white artefacts all over the screen, random flashes of somethign that happens too quick to see, screen going black for a few seconds then coming back, locking the machine so it's needs a reset. There was also once or twice when the image went a bit squat (like it had gone from 16:9 to 4:3 but squat the image rather than cutting the edges off).
My other card (I bought 2) hasn't done any of that, yet at least.

There's no doubt in my mind that they'll find it find because that's what seems to happen with RMA services. I've had cards that don't display anything on multiple computers that have been tested as not faulty. So I've no doubt at all that this will be fine and I'll be left with a £296 paperweight.
I've never had any luck with RMAs, all they seem to do is be a way for me to spend money shipping the item and then spend more money paying for the faulty testing as well as paying for the shipping back.

Well, actually that's not true, when my motherboard caught fire OcUK did replace it and I believe they agreed there was a problem.
And Corsair swapped my PSU because I explained about the flaming motherboard and said I was worried the PSU was either to blame or had been affected (they told me they'd swap it I wanted them to, which was good).

OK, so OcUK and Corsair have been ok, but this is EVGA. I've only had 1 EVGA product before this and it and the support were so appalling it's taken me since... (when did the Core2Duo E6600 get released?) before I've gone near EVGA again.

I've taken the card out now so can't take a video of it. Besides which I'd have to video it 24/7 to be sure of catching it.

Mine just completely locked up the PC when running OC Scanner. The artefacts and other glitches were all while running GW2.

Also if the EVGA's website and RMA forms/process are anything to go by their RMA service will be shockingly poor.

EVERY single time I have had to fill out anything on their website clicking the submit button resets the form and I have to do it all again. The second time then usually works ok.

EDIT: Sorry for ranting, just it's very frustrating. I've completely lost confidence in EVGA and am already regretting buying another EVGA product. I should've learnt my lesson after the first incident with the motherboard. I seriously doubt I will be buying another EVGA product.

Also, I have to pay to ship the item to Germany! They sell me a faulty product and it costs me more money to get it fixed/replaced! They'll charge me part and labour costs in a minute and will probably want me to pay to ship the card back too. They'll probably want me to chip in for their Christmas party too!

Sorry, ranting again...

My card already is the FTW so can't see how they could upgrade that. In fact if they do it'll probably cause more issues!

Having just read another thread it seems like I need to take a LOT of pictures of the card and packaging before I send it as EVGA might look to get out of doing anything if they can possibly blame it on me.

Glad you got yours sorted though.

I doubt I'll be as lucky though. What's more annoying is that I've bought 3 EVGA items and 2 have been faulty. I think best if I stick to a better quality brand in future.

More companies should have Corsair level of customer service (I bet I'm gonna regret saying that now!).
