Just want someone to confirm that I can return retail CPUs under the DSR, even if they have been opened and used, so long as it's with the 7 day window?

I'm not going to start another rant about why I might want to do this, but if you really must know then check my thread in the overclock/cooling forum.

Cheers

Any chance of a link to your rant? :p

You'll have to ask in the CS section for a positive confirmation. I'll dig up what Bailey said to me. gimme a few secs :)

Double posting = Failure of epic proportions.

Anyway aslong as the item is in perfect condition a DSR shouldnt be a problem at all.

We would need as much of the parts back as possible. We do have surplus thermal pads here aswell.

You will need to to request DSR on the webnote system online however.

Hops this helps

Regards

So did you return a cpu under the regulations then? Wasn't a problem that the seal was broken or anything?

The "rant" is a the top of the oc & cooling forum just now.

You're entitled to return it without question as long as you comply with the regulations.

Consumers are under a duty to take reasonable care of the goods
while in their possession as discussed in paragraph 3.44. The DSRs
allow consumers to examine goods they have ordered as they would
in a shop. If that requires opening the packaging and trying out the
goods then they have not breached their duty to take reasonable
care of the goods. In these circumstances you cannot insist that
consumers return the goods as new or in their original packaging.
You may ask consumers to return goods with the original packaging,
but you cannot insist on this. In the case of goods such as earrings
that have hygiene seals, you may require consumers to exercise
reasonable care by not removing the seals when examining them.

Of course if you keep doing this there's nothing to stop OcUK, or any other e-tailer, from refusing to accept any further orders from you.

It was for a GPU waterblock. I have no need to return it. Just checking I could :)

be reasonable with the amount of times you do it :)

It's their fault that I need to do this so I'll be as reasonable as they were with me;)

Anyway, thanks for the replies.
