I have an Xtremegamer & although CMSS3d is quite good I wanted to try Dolby Headphone.

I see on the Creative site that their DTS connect & DTS live pack is about $5, does this include dolby headphone & basically is it worth bothering with it.

O.S. Is Vista H.P. 64. Any other info needed just ask.

Cheers,

Brad.

Dolby Digital Live and DTS Connect Pack is the name of the pack.

Features:

1. Uses a single digital cable connection - This ensures the integrity of the audio signal and eliminates the confusion, hassle and clutter of multiple analog and digital connections.
2. Transforms all PC audio signals into a Dolby Digital or DTS signal - This enables playback of PC audio over millions of home theater systems equipped with Dolby Digital or DTS decoding.
3. Optimized for low-latency interactive applications - No perceptible delay between video and audio in game play.
4. Provide realistic 5.1-channel surround sound effects during interactive video gameplay - Immerses PC and game console players in a highly realistic game experience

I just wanted to know if anyone had it already & if it was worth bothering about.

But does it have dolby headphone & is it worth bothering about.....or is Dolby headphone a xonar thing.

Ah! You didn't say Dolby Digital Live in the OP, you said DTS Live. :)

I think Dolby Headphone is separate, if it were part of the pack it would be mentioned.

I have bought the pack for an Xtreme Music. It includes Dolby Digital Live and DTS Connect. It does not include Dolby Headphone.

You can use it to send DDL or DTSC to a Dolby Headphone capable receiver such as the SU-DH1.

If you want to try Dolby Headphone, see if you can track down Pearl Harbour on DVD. It has a native pre-encoded Dolby Headphone soundtrack (just select it in the audio options and listen with headphones) . There are a few other DVDs with it on if you look them up.

There are software Dolby Headphone encoder options but the ones I've tried are not as good as a hardware based soundcard or reciever.
