Dual : AMD Opteron Processor 848

Umm.. AFAIK 848 is a single core socket 940 2.2Ghz processor so insn't that 4.4Ghz of computing power?

The 875 is the dual core version at the same speed.

The 8** means that you can put 8 on one motherboard, so if you had a 8 socket motherboard and 8 x 848 CPU's you would have 17.6Ghz of power, or if you put 8 x 875 in one motherboard you would have 35Ghz of power :)

Have a read here

You also need a 8 way motherboard, most of those are actually 4 way motherboards with daughter card on top to add the extra cpus

The Thunder K8QW (S4881) is one with the optional M4881 add-on processor board

Bit pricy thou, probably looking at close to £2K for both boards.
