Hi All,
I was wondering if anyone knew if you can get a Dual band wireless draft N router which can use one band (b+g) say as a network bridge connection and then the other band (a+n) for fast wireless?
My set-up:-
Downstairs = phone socket + wireless router + Server + several laptops all wireless G
I would like to add a router/bridge upstairs that provides a wireless N as well. I have an xbox360 and would like to move the server upstairs and out of the way whilst also having wireless N added to the network for my MBP.
Does any of this make sense?
Phone -> Router ->(bridged 54G) Router (wireless N)-> Laptop
Then the router downstairs can still dish out wireless G and bridge connection, upstairs I will have strong wireless N and be able to transfer data to and from the Server faster.
So wondering if anyone has tried anything similar or can come up with a better solution, and sadly running cat 5e or using powerlines is not really an option due to very old house with older electrics.
Thank you for any help!
