Have just installed vista 64 on a brand new rig ,all ok but I want to do some gaming .I have a 250g HD split into 2...

I want to put xp onto the other partition but havn't got a clue how this works.
How do you chose which o/s to use ?
do I need more than 2 partitions?
etc etc etc.

All help appreciated.

Ideally you should have XP installed on one partition first then Install Vista on the second. Which would setup the boot menu automatically. However since you've only got Vista on. You'll need to install XP on the other partition. Then boot off the Vista dvd, go into the recovery section and repair the boot option. This may not pickup the XP install, if so you'll need to download VistaBootPro http://www.vistabootpro.org/ and use that to setup the XP option in the boot menu. This may give you help you need with bootpro http://www.pro-networks.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=84455
