I have XP Pro on my main HD hd0 and have PCOS on an external USB hard drive.

Instead of the grub boot loader coming up I want XP to boot if I have boot from hd0 selected in bios and PCOS to boot if I have USBHD selected in bios.

That way I can just press F12 to decide which HD I want to boot from.

Is this possible and if so what do I need to do.

Thanks

In direct answer to title: No.

You can reinstall the NTLDR on the primary HD, and install Grub on the USBHD (as if it were primary). Though personally I'd prefer the Grub menu, and have a short timeout and default option to be windows.
