ive got vista ultimate on my drive c
and vista business on drive d

but i have repartitioned about 40gb on d to install ubuntu but havent formatted the new partition yet

would it be ok to install ubuntu to the new 40gb partition if so how should i format it

cheers!

Use ext3, the Ubuntu installer / partitioner will actually do that for you. You also need a linux-swap partition, again this will be done for you.

Make sure you choose the MANUAL partition option though, to make sure it's being installed to the correct place.
