Fortunatley I have a PS2 keyboard that allows me to chose either XP or Vista (up and down arrows), however I would prefer to use a usb keyboard but when I do I cant use up and down arrows at the XP/Vista option stage....if I leave it for 30 seconds it boots to Vista automatically. Is there a way I can use the usb keyboard that will allow me to input with the arrow keys pre-windows?

Strange the adapter is not working. Have you got another one to test with or, forgive me for asking, are you sure you put it in the keyboard ps2 (purple)?

Not 100% sure but sure enough! ;)
EDIT (it wasnt a new adapter just one that i found and "borrowed" from work - might be faulty i guess, could try a new one...)

If you can find a PS2 number pad..

Could do, but would rather just have one keyboard really....id rather just use a ps2 keyboard....although the nice new keyboards seem to be mostly usb nowadays.

In my bios i just have an option "enable usb keyboard" ?

Really? ive had a look in the bios for such an option but couldnt find one, will have another look when I get home from work...

All sorted!

For the record I had to go:

Integrated Peripherals --> Onchip PCI --> USB Device Setting -->Change Keyboard from OS to BIOS.

Job done. :D

Thanks all.

Hi All,

I am having this problem too, I have an Abit IB9 and can't find any similar setting in the BIOS and a USB PS2 adapter also doesn't work (doesn't work in Vista either which is odd to say the least). Not at home at the moment to check anything but any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Some motherboards Ive come across have "Usb Legacy Support" or "USB in DOS mode" in the BIOS.
