Dual boot vista......do I need partition magic???

Hi all

I wanna dual boot vista on my main 150gb Raptor.....it currently has a windows xp installation on it.

I need to partition it into 2 primary drives which i could do with partition magic. However my XP installation has nothing important on it & i could happily do a fresh install of that as well...

So my question is, when i run the XP set-up disc.....will the installation partition the disc into 2 primary drives or will it just create a primary partition for itself and use the other space to create a secondary data partition??

would it be better to just install onto a seperate disc??
