Dual boot work around for Gametap

I'm trying my best to think of a work around for gametap.

If you didn't know GT doesn't support 64b O/S and I currently have Vista 64b.

I really want to sign up and get playing some cheap games but currently cannot and it doesn't seem like they are going to pull their fingers out anytime soon.

I'm hoping i have a copy of 2000 somewhere, but i've heard if i do a dual boot i will lose Vista. I cannot risk that since i don't have the Vista disk (legitimate reason, my version is from Uni) so need a work around.

Thought Woohoo what about Linux, no support for that either.

Anyway i do have two hard disks, surely there is a way of installing 2000 on my second drive away from Vista and my main drive and to be able to select a boot from that in DOS at startup?

Also i'd be hoping not to lose the stuff i've got on my second disk since its now full of programs so i wouldn't want 2000 to format it in anyway.

What's my chances of a solution here?

Thanks for viewing.

I thought vista 64 could run 32 bit apps?

Unplug Vista drive, install 2K.

Don't know what will happen if you replug it and try to boot. You could:

1. Use the BIOS to control boot order.

2. Get a mobile rack and swap them.

3. Get GRUB as the bootloader. You can set it up so that the two OSes never see each other. ( Changes the partition ID, effectively cloaking it )

4. If you have Ultimate or similar, use BitLocker. 2K can't harm what it can't see. Don't know about the reverse, though.

León fan, eh? :D

Oh yes, i don't know anyone who's seen it and isn't though! :D

Right things took a turn for the worse. The IDE HD i've got is pooped, but i did find w2000.

I've got two HD's one with Vista on, and another with general files etc..

I want to diasble (unplug) my main HD, so only the second drive is viewed on startup, then install w2000 on it.

Will i experience any problems doing that, will i lose my data on the disk? Are 2000 and vista in the same format in terms of HD? ie fat32 etc...and lastly, when both drives are in, can i just select in the BIOS which one to boot from and will vista have a problem with this at all?

Thanks.
