Hi Guys
i have 2 sata 500gb drives 1 has xp pro64 and i want to load Vista Ultimate64 on the other, when i tried it took ages to go through the motions nearly 12hours in the end when i just let in run it failed installation, i was running 8gig on a asus striker 2 formula, latest bios updated with quad 2.83. bfg 280gtx
so i took out 4 gig as 8 did give me a issue with xp.
It was very slow even with 4 gig about 3 hours and all it reached was 44%
tried re-formating the sata drive through xp , tried booting from cd, it does start but takes so long it falls down after hours upon hours of waiting for it to install, i do not want to update as i want to dual boot between xp and vista, but im thinking i should have stayed with 32bit, never had this bother before with loading os.
Thanks for any help you can give

Hi all
Just a update

I had the same problem tring ti install vista ultimate 64 on my second 500 seagate sata drive, i have xp pro 64 on my first one, i tried for about 3 days to install vista , but with no luck i first thought it had somethink to do with the 8gig of ram i had installed so i removed 4 of that and it was still the same, in the end i believe it has somethink to do with the sata drivers, so i installed a 500 ide drive on my primary, and hay presto installed first time.
Although its not the answer but at least its on and i have got another 500gb to play with.
Good Luck
John
