Can anyone point me in the direction of any good posts re how to install and use a second OS (I've heard its windows first, linux second).

HOw about if I want to install 3? I was thinking of installing Windows XP ( a) waiting for Windows 7 official release , b) for nostalgia, c) because I quite like it), a version of linux, and then Windows 7 when it is released... its possible to install 3 OSs (was going to put 2 on 1 HDD, and Windows 7 on 2nd HDD), do you have to partition disc? Should installing the OS be the first thing you do to your disk, so that it is installed in contiguous memory, I'm assuming if you install one later on wouldn't perform as well?

I have only had pre-built PC with OEM XP on it in the past. If you buy an initial release of Windows 7, can you upgrade to future SPs for free?

** If I have a 64 bit processor, can I still use a 32 bit OS? Would I have to update all of the drivers?

Thanks...

Something tells me you haven't actually done any searching so far.

My advice is to go and have a search on google, then come back with any specific questions about the process you need to follow. You need to be willing to search for yourself first in my opinion.

All of the above is possible, your cpu should run 32bit if it can handle 64bit.
