Does anyone have a solution as to how to get a bluetooth keyboard to work in both XP and Vista without having to re-pair the device with the PC every time i switch between OS?

Currently I go into bluetooth and add a device - at which point I have to press the "make/break connection" button on the keyboard or the PC does not see it. I have tried using a generated passkey, my own passkey and even no passkey. Then I boot into the other OS and the keyboard no longer works and the PC doesn't see it. The only way I can get it to connect is to press the"make/break connection" button on the keyboard again - which means it no longer works in the other OS!
I am going round in circles. Is there any way to fix this so it works in BOTH OS without having to re-pair every time?

Any help would be great. Thanks.

What make is the keyboard?

I had a similar problem with a Logitech MX5000 - had to keep pairing the keyboard after every restart.

Updating the software (and the dongle firmware) solved it.

Had no problems in Vista though.

its a microsoft bluetooth elite. Afaik i have the latest software installed but will double check when i get home. As long as i use the same os each time it doesn't need to pair again, it works fine. The problem is when i switch between the 2 os. It seems i can't have it paired to both simultaneously. Surely there must be a way to do this besides buying a keyboard for each os!? lol

Any ideas? Would it be possible to simply copy the file(s) where the bluetooth settings are stored in XP and paste it into Vista? If so any ideas where the bluetooth paired devices info is stored?
